I’ve been busy lately, but I’ve managed just enough time to share this hypnotic new addition to my latest optical photography series, “Laundratopia”! You can find the first optical post here. In this playful series, objects associated with doing laundry are suddenly transformed into striking architectural, optical illusions!

Marisa D. Aceves. “V Fold”. Digital Photography. 2018.

Often, our most hated chores provide the best photo opportunities. In this black and white shot, the pattern of the object becomes the backdrop for an amazing optical illusion. The gentle folds carry your eyes from the corner of the image to its center and back again. It’s visual completion.

I’ve decided to continue my abstract “Blind Faith” series with some new optical additions. This “O” formation was relatively easy to do and rounds out the other works quite nicely. If you move your screen up and down, the illusion is complete. The rings of the “O” appear to vibrate from the center. I’ll add other creations as time allows. In the meantime, enjoy a peaceful and wonderfully creative weekend.

“H” is the eighth letter of the alphabet. It was the layout of the first house I lived in. You can imagine my surprise when after minutes of carefully arranging sections of blind photos a familiar yet distant character emerged. I hadn’t planned the “H”, but somehow it’s a small though significant part of my experience. Even stranger still, it’s the eighth addition to my series.

Feel free to check out the whole series here and tell me what you think!

Have a great weekend!

Textured lines bend gracefully.

A line is lost; a line is found.

The ebb and flow of life culminates in the signature of a single fingertip.

Time imprints itself on men’s divided hearts.
