Brilliant colors savor dull moments

Incorrigible sisters crashing a party

Red lips

Curved hips

They live and die for the attention of an unsuspecting crowd

When they speak

The room is silent

When they laugh

Knees crumble

As the neglected desperately clutch the trails of their gowns

I created the Subliminal Vibrations Series as a means to inject juicey, vivacious color into our ordinary, stressful lives and homes. Sometimes, as we live, we forget to feel, breathe, and be present each moment. We let the hopeless, trapped feeling of current events keep us from appreciating the blessings and gifts that we do have. As a consequence, we neglect to share them. Let’s not decide to stand in the metaphorical corner ruefully watching others live. Share with others that small spark that they’re missing.

Textured lines bend gracefully.

A line is lost; a line is found.

The ebb and flow of life culminates in the signature of a single fingertip.

Time imprints itself on men’s divided hearts.

Dusted, yellow branches search for the sun.

They habitually await the introduction of spring.

Outside, winter’s frost has fought it’s last battle.

Inside, the pampered natives play rustic peasantry.

Winding metallic lines meet boldly.

Waves catch mid days light,

Holding their form,

Anticipating the curious.

Eyes still standing,

Encase the surrogate womb,

Sealing deep wells,

Impressing your mind.

Bold eyes search for signs of life

Combing the waters glowing canopy

Brazen and banded

They seek hidden prey

Killing the meek amongst the reef

This world above meets the aquatic below

As the seaweed grows

Young loners meet their pale day

Destined to sleep while killers play

Believe it or not, this is actually a picture of a piece of home decor that I had received as a Christmas gift two years ago. Just when I think I can’t get any more photos from this object, a fresh idea emerges.

Colorful bands of light emerge from the shadows

Seeking jewels of equal brilliance

Apart they shine

Together, they creatively conquer the word

Everyone remembers special individuals in our lives that used their talents to both support us and give generously to others. This particular group of colorful objects was discovered together. They add to each others visual interest, but hold a certain fascination and purpose of their own.

One arrow faces north, the other south.

The sudden urge to yield to the hearts desires are first monitored, then fastidiously controlled.

A desperate twin and its polar opposite are brought together with a tight hinge.

There is no hint of neutrality or a reluctant peace treaty, only a trusty handle to ensure cooperation.

My mother bought two of these objects to help us clean and organize the house. One unusually dull afternoon, I turned to look at the hearth. The object was leaning clumsily to one side. At first, I thought that I was going to get a work break with this newly discovered find, a one shot photo. However, I had to take several shots before I was satisfied with the results. Finally, I chose this photo for the unveiling. Its design reminded me of many strained relationships (they may be work relationships or personal relationships) that occur because the people involved have opposing views on how things should be done. The top arrows represent one side the bottom arrows the other. The arrow designs on both the top and the bottom are both black and white in order to represent the concept that contained within extreme forms of thought, there are still ideas which contradict one another, therefore making the arguments of each side less valid. Neither side would give except that ultimately they are working towards the same goal. This cause, (represented by the hinge), binds them together; they are forced to work out their differences. This is achieved with the handle. In this design, it is placed strategically in the middle like a referee. The handle ( person or organization representing the handle) carries the two opposing sides, helping them to work out their differences until they have their next inevitable disagreement. Without this handle, their would be no achievement or progress.

What is your interpretation of this object? What does it remind you of?

Warm hues float beneath my skin.

Its transparency catches the sunlight

Our future suspended in a twist of time

When pride is broken

We meet again

I took this abstract photograph when we visited a flooring store in our quest to find a porcelain tile that would simulate the look of exotic tiger wood. There were many textures, colors and brands of tile and flooring. While none of their designs appealed to us, I still managed to leave the store with this colorful, fascinating gem.

Wishing you all a wonderfully creative weekend!
