Surprising Abstract Art That Looks Like Secret Doorways

An iron door emerges.

Imagination reaches out to touch it’s textured surface

It is an entryway to a sunken treasure, an inter-dimensional portal to another universe.

When I took this photo, the object above was just sitting there as the light hit it. I traveled around the object shooting its surface from different angles, but it took me awhile to settle on the photo above. The other photos were interesting, but they did not have the curious quality that gave this photo it’s story. When an object begins to tell it’s story because it suggests something other than what it actually is, then emotion becomes attached to that inanimate object. We begin to relate to it in other ways, making a variety of associations and then eventually bringing them back to ourselves. Not everyone sees the same thing in an object that has been photographed.

What does this object remind you of?

What does it mean to you?
